OUR STORY

Started with a common problem,  formed in the right timing, and is developing from passion.

This is the Stelona Story.

October 2018

THE 'AHA' MOMENT

Lydia realized that out of all her pairs of shoes, her only pair that had dependable, lasting comfort were for warm weather.

She thought if she could replace the summer straps with a winter style, she could keep comfort year-round no matter the style!

TRANSITION YEAR

In May 2019, Lydia graduated Auburn University with a bachelors degree in Apparel Design and Production Management.

Following graduation she moved to Houston for a design internship, returned to Auburn as a design coordinator for a golf company,  and then found herself working retail. Amongst all the change, she continued building a foundation for Stelona.

QUIT HER JOB

After wearing her summer 'gameday' shoes in the winter needing the comfort working retail,  and the world shutting down giving her time to fully pursue Stelona validated what she needed to do.

She got called back in May as stores started opening, and decided to go a different route. Hello self-employment!

PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT

Stelona got accepted into an accelerator program that assists with prototype development through 3D printing. Through this we finalized our design and identified the materials.

MANUFACTURE

PARTNERSHIP

Stelona made their first significant partnership with a manufacturer in New York City. Scaling with them, Stelona will be a product made in the USA!
